Children are a gift from the Lordthey are a reward from him.” – Psalm 127 : 3

I have loved children from as long as I can remember. They are cute, cuddly, squishy, wobbly and certainly delightful. No one told me about the hard parts of being a mum! No amount of parenting books gave me clues as to how to navigate a mum’s journey. I learnt it all and continue to learn it through practice. My mum’s been a crucial part of telling me the know hows, the age old wisdom helps but I have had to improvise techniques of rearing, bathing, scolding, time outs and of course rewarding in my own way!

My first born, has always been a breath of fresh air! Dainty, dedicated, focused, and the composed of the lot! She has been the perfect first child giving any parent hope that all the children that follow after are a piece of cake! No, they aren’t! They come from the same pod but they are their own individuals. I don’t have a sister so my older girl continues to be my rock and anchor! She is my best friend until she has the teen syndrome hit her! I SINCERELY DO HOPE WE WILL PASS THAT JOURNEY WITHOUT TOO MUCH HASSLE.

My son.. the second born! He is charming yet naughty! He radiates love with his smile and touch. He can be cheeky but mesmerizing at the same time. There are hard moments and I wonder is it going to get harder when the man hormones come raging? He still loves cuddling up and being hugged away to sleep. We are going to continue co-sleeping until he doesn’t want to do it anymore.

My third born, she’s only nine months old, but boy is she FIESTY! She’s a fireball and I am nervous of the journey ahead. She keeps us young but she can be a stubborn butterfly at times!

Each of them bring us joy and hope for a better tomorrow.  I say a prayer for them each day that they will rise up to be responsible, empathetic individuals who will love God and be kind hearted.
